What is a Thin Client

Posted by Stefan Lourens on

A Thin Client or Zero Client is a device that connects into an existing Virtualised Desktop infrastructure. This 'infrastructure' is normally hosted on a server on premisses or in the cloud. Thin and Zero clients offer a range of advantages over traditional desktops. Power consumption is significantly less and equates to real savings in a very short time. It is also a lot easier to manage and maintain because of the small footprint operating systems. In a virtual desktop environment, there is almost never a need for a traditional PC anymore.
